- Birthday party recap.....#2
- Like I said, if it is going to happen to us.....it is!! After about four hours in the pool...that Chris spent lots of money, lots of hours, lots of sand and countless sleepless hours since he is on nightshift....it went KAPOOT! There was a small leak in the seam and Madisyn was in the pool with him, holding him down to patch it, while the other girls were on the outside with me helping him find the correct spot. WHOOSH....13,000 gallons of water came gushing out, chris was trapped under the water by the pressure and the flow of the water, Madisyn was pulling on his legs trying to get him up (screaming hysterically) and all I could see from the outside was his arms sticking through with the current and all that water gushing down our field. It was TERRIBLE..the girls were all screaming but when Chris finally came up, we all had to laugh to keep from crying. Chris played it off wonderfully...what a guy! I was mostly in tears because I knew how long he spent on it. Yes...I know a 350.00 pool is "get what you pay for" , however, we have had one for two years and last year the only reason it "died" was because it was on wood planks and Chris accidentally hit on plank with the lawnmower and it burst a hole in the side.
- SO, I called the place back where we got it and they said they would replace the pool or refund the money, we just had to take it apart and bring it back (ha...not fun or easy either!)...but we did....AND, we got our money back! We will invest in a real pool next year.....like we did at our other home before moving and stop wasting money on these others.
- We loaded up the girls and took them to an indoor pool facility very close to our home....we stayed about 2 hrs, had a WONDERFUL Time (I was wondering why we just don't do this more often...cheap and it is out of the sun for Lyza's sake). We then came home to eat, set up tents and start a campfire. We had a scavenger hunt, a few other games and then settled in around the campfire, told stories and played catchphrase.....(OH, forgot to mention immediatly after the happy birthday song.....a huge fireworks display was let off...OK, so she is a bit spoiled! :-). At 11 pm Chris and I headed up to the house and the girls slept in the tent all night without a trip up to the house at all! They got up around 9 am to cinnamon rolls, fruit trays and array of juices! What a crew! They all cleaned up nicely and were back to their homes by 11 am!
- We then headed to a family cookout and it was VERY hot...so we didn't stay but a few hours to visit.....and then headed home and everyone crashed for naps!
Lia and Lyza at the cookout....what big girls!!!
