We had a wonderful Valentines Weekend!

It started off on Friday, my mother came down and we went to the Ralphie May Comedy Show. WHOA...wasn't expecting SO MUCh language, but ya got to admit, he is a funny, funny man. We actually had to leave a little early because we had to pick Lyza up at 10:30, but we got lost (yes people, I live in this city, but try driving it while trying to hold a converation with your mother) and we ended up there at like 11:15. Funny...... Funny, funny night and times. We both desperatly needed the laughs. This was of course all followed by lunch at Zoup and Dinner at Arbys (we were in a hurry). And some much needed retail therapy shopping. I won't tell you what she made me by! Ugggg

Chris had inisted all week he make our plans for V-day.....and that he did. I won't say exactly where we went or what we did, but we had fun. We were together, we had no kids...we relaxed, we caught up on each other and we laughed..... A LOT! Just by him taking the lead in doing something for me, meant more than any flower, rose, dinner, etc. It was perfect!

On actual V-day we went to Haubs Steak Houe in Haubstadt and we both ate WAY more than we should. I had crab stuffed mushrooms, Cocktail Shrimp (I share!), Crab Stuffed Shrimp, Spinach Strawberry Salad and Strawberry Shortcake! YEAH ME...not the day to diet!!! Chris had Steak, Baked Potato, Salad. And we left fat and happy. I was exhausted after work so we came home and put little miss to bed, and to bed we went ourselves. I was zonked by 9 pm, out cold.

To those who don't know. I started back working full time this week teaching Pre-K. While I love it there currently isn't any structure, discipline, etc. ORgANIZATION...what's that? So....I am doing my best to get these things and protocols in place with the director. My room is cute....but it is a total doggone mess. Way to many toys, games and crap. It should be a school setting so about 60% of it is going to go!! Lots and Lots of back breaking work needs to be done, and the students in my room are pretty darn unruly, I think they are still under the impression I'm a sub......and well, I'm not. They will learn in a few weeks or sooner if I am lucky!!!

MADISYN COMES HOME EARLY FRI MORNING INTO EVANSVILLE.

Blessings.....hopefully I can get caught up on a few more things tonight. It is 3:31 am not. I crashed at 7:30 pm last night, so I am going to try and go back to sleep1

What has been going on?

Just way to much, that's what has been going on! (BACK HOME)

First... my grandfather (Poppy) was hospitalized a few weeks ago for pneumonia and then recently transferred to a rehabilitation wing at a nursing home a few towns away. He is not the best patient by any means....as a matter of fact he is the worst patient on this planet and I am not exaggerating.

Second... My mother's PICC line came out of her arm, and she had to go back to have it put in. Except she got all the way to her dr. office and they decide they are not putting it back in, instead they are going to do surgery and put a port in her chest. She has been feeling pretty lousy with many other symptoms of craziness that I won't mention! (sorry mom.....but she whole heartedly admits she is crazy, bless her heart!). In case you don't know, she has Lyme Disease and it is a day by day basis on how you feel and it has some of the strangest, horrifying symptoms I've ever seen. There is no cure, just methods of keeping a patient comfortable. Through her PICC line, now will be port (surgery next week probably) she takes three different medications.

Third.... My 7 yr old niece, LaRissa, went for a dr. appt because she was having trouble breathing, coughing, etc. She had been diagnosed with asthma but they never really told Brandon and Trish what to look for in a full blown asthma attack. Apparantly she was having a series of VERY SERIOUS asthma attacks and they didn't even know it, her oxygen levels were way low and they admitted her to ICU right away. She was in for four days. They tried several times to take her off the oxygen, but she would just start having attacks again and they would have to put her back on oxygen and meds through the IV's. She came home on Sunday, but was still pretty icky and didn't get to go to school on Monday. She is back in school now, and I am very thankful they now know what to look for to get her treatment right away.

Fourth.... Chris and I's GodDaughters grandmother passed away on Sunday, and their mother is a very dear friend. Although I do not know her exact pain of losing her mother, I cannot even imagine being in her shoes with two young Guatecuties who don't understand it all....and on top, losing the person you go to and love most. My sypathies are with them and am praying for them continually. I will be helping out with the girls as much as she needs us to.

Lastly....My nephew went in to have his tonsils removed. He will be there for most of the day unless he doesn't show signs of improvement and then will have to stay the night. The dr. came out after surgery and exclaimed that the "Sex Change Surgery" went very well! LOL ;-)

So....that is what I have been up to? Is that a good enough excuse for you for me not blogging? I caught heck from my best friend Lynette last night. She thought something might be really wrong with me....and now I'm sure I am in trouble since I was home and didn't have time to see her! Next time hun!

Brydon this AM at the hospital. hmmmm, kinda looks like his dad all loopy! (Just kiddin' Bran!...wait, no...I'm not kidding)
LaRissa in ICU....too bad the girl didn't get a darn present while he was in there! And these are just the stuffed animals!!!!!!

Where I had to put Brydon while I was keeping him at moms when LaRissa was in the hosptial! LOL.... just kidding! I think Taylor may have taken this pic.

** SiLlY sUnDaY **

It is SILLY SUNDAY again......I think this is my favorite day of the week. It is usually church filled with a very silly day afterwards! However, starting next week Chris and I are starting classes two services in a row, so we decided to go to church last night, and take this Sunday to be silly ALL day, since we will be consumed the next six weeks with classes.....those on top of a Tuesday night class! We will be busy, plus he starts on a different shift this week....which always takes time for all of us to adjust to!

Today was beautiful out with temps near 50 degrees or more (haven't had time to get in the exact degrees yet)....so Chris cleaned the garage while Lyza and I played on the swingset.....then we came in for a bit to have lunch and headed back out to stack up some firewood and pick up sticks to crunch up to start our fires with! We played with sidewalk chalk, cleaned up the yard and Lyza (as you can see below) did some sledding. No...we have no snow, but she had fun anyways! Yep, as always, there are some "screaming photos"....I mean, it just wouldn't be a complete day without some four year old whining ;-) She is cute even when she whines! ((Smiles))

The day is ending and winding down with "Alvin and the Chipmunks" the Squeakquel....for us! I hear the weather is supposed to turn for those of us here in Indiana and other states tomorrow night and on into the week. My parents are just a few hours away from us and their forecast looks much worse than our.....I know my dad would kill me....but I did make the suggestion to Chris that we go for a visit and conveniently get stuck! We got an ice storm a few years ago and it sounded like a warzone outside! It was crazy! I don't hope for that....but I did have Chris bring some more firewood up in case the electricity should go out...or in case we do get stuck at home it is always nice to have a fire going. That is the one thing I love about this houe is the coziness and the fun we having in this living room on rainy/snowy days! It transforms to a wonderfully made fort and playroom filled with laughter and games!

Rainboots, a sled and some leaves!

Lyza loves to make tents in all the rooms....on this day she made it in her room, played with her bright-light and pulled out the make up trunk! Isn't she pretty?
