Mother's Day....EARLY!

Mother's Day arrived for me a week early, but it was wonderful! I wouldn't have loved it more any other way!
We started our day off by packing a picnic lunch, homeade lemonade in a jug and off we went to Harmonie State Park about 1/2 hr away! We arrived at our destination and had a wonderful picnic lunch of chicken, potatoes, rolls and mac and cheese! We received the nicest picnic basket as a wedding gift several years ago and although we have put it to good use....it was really put to good use today and it felt just like I was a kid again! We played on the playground, hiked down by the river a bit, went to the recreation field and flew kites, played frisbee, put out a blanket and soaked up some sun while the kids and dogs ran in the field! We then headed to the campground and picked out two adjoining spots for Madisyn's upcoming birthday party campout weekend with 5 of her friends! We found the perfect spot and now are anxiously awaiting for the big weekend to come (not until mid June..but we did the invites tonight and have started all the planning)! We ended the day coming home and building a fire in our own firepit down by our barn. The weather was perfect at 70 degrees with only a slight enough breeze to get the kites in the air! What a truly wonderful day......did I mention Lyza slept in until 9:45 am this morning??? After our very long start to the weekend, Maddy spent the night at her grandparents last night and went to church with them this morning...while we planned and prepared f or the "surprise" day we had in mind! It was nice to sleep in.....we haven't done that for a very long time considering Chris' crazy work schedule!!!
What a wonderful Mother's Day with it being the first year to have our family complete! I hope everyone has an equally wonderful weekend next weekend!
